The "écuyers" of the Cadre Noir, who are they?
The "Cadre Noir de Saumur" groups together the whole body of the French national riding school's professors. Real experts in their disciplines, the "écuyers" have for main mission to pass on a technical and theorical knowledge to the pupils come look for a robust vocational training at the French national riding school. They contribute so actively to the preservation and to the brilliance of the French equitation by illustrating and by passing on its principles during public presentations in France and foreign countries. They also have for mission to prepare horses for the formation of the pupils, the horses which they value during national and international competitions.
The "Cadre Noir de Saumur" counts 43 professors today: 8 servicemen, among whom the chief riding masters, given to the director of the school by the ministry of the Defence and 34 civilians among whom sporting professors of the Ministry of Sports. Among the riding masters, the women have just as much their place than the men.
