The riding sports appears from the middle of the XIXth century: races, crosses and equestrian trek are essentially practiced by servicemen. Very quickly, the riders of the Cadre Noir de Saumur become famous in the biggest tests. The first Championship of the Horse of Weapons, which will become later the eventing, is organized in Saumur in 1902. He is wan by a rider of the Cadre Noir, the Captain de Saint-Phalle.
In 1912, the equestrian sports make their entry to the Olympic Games. In the OG of Paris in 1924, the Captain Lesage win the individual bronze medal in dressage. In 2003: European championship: new selection in team of France and new medals for the Cadre Noir because Jean-Luc Force and Arnaud Boiteau win the title of European vice-champions by team.
In 2004: Olympic Games of Athens: Arnaud Boiteau and the chief warrant officer Courrèges are crowned Olympic champions by team in three-day event.
In 2007: European championship: the team of France is, as in 2005, vice-champion of Europe in eventing with the cooperation of two riders: Arnaud Boiteau and Didier Dhennin.
